Young Researchers Workshops – Call for Applications
The 8th Pan-European Conference on International Relations will take place between 18 and 21 September 2013 in Warsaw, Poland. On this occasion, EISA will organise two Young Researchers Workshops (YRW), thus offering an opportunity for young scholars (advanced doctoral students and recent post-docs) to present their research and gain experience in academic conferencing. The YRW will take place prior to the conference, on 17 September 2013.
The workshops have proven to be a very useful venue for lively academic discussions. Furthermore they offer an excellent opportunity for networking, exchanging of ideas and building up research proposals, discussing publication opportunities, and the like.
To facilitate interactions between young researchers, EISA offers financial support up EUR 7.500 per workshop. Each workshop should be attended by approx. 10-12 active participants. The funds provided are primarily meant to meet travel costs of participants, based on the most economic means to travel. Subject to availability of the allocated funds covering accommodation costs for individual participants may be considered.
The EISA welcomes YRW proposals until 11 January 2013. The proposals should be sent to the following address: EISAYRW@gmail.com. The proposals may not exceed a 500-word limit and include information about the following items:
- the purpose of the workshop;
- the scientific relevance of the subject to be covered by the workshop;
- a tentative structure of the workshop (topics of paper proposals that would be particularly encouraged by the organizer/s of the workshop).
The Selection Committee of EISA, chaired by Zlatko Šabič, will announce its decision by 18 January 2013. Applicants will be informed about the results of the selection process and the two successful workshops will be presented on EISA’s website.
Note: successful applicants will be responsible for drawing up a call for papers, which should follow immediately after the results of the present Call have been announced.
